I was able to capture this little guys photo at the Kentucky Down Under. The Tawny Frogmouths feathers are mottled in color and they rely on their feathers to keep them camouflaged against a tree during the daytime. Frogmouths use their whole open mouth and tongue as a lure. They are nocturnal and belong to the "nightjar" family.

I belong to the nightjar family too. This is a beauty, April! Good texture (like a tree...), cool eyes, and the black background is great!

Thank you Carol!! LOL, yes I believe you do belong to the nightjar family, so did I once, LOL. I worked 12 hour night shifts for 9 years. :D
