Behind The Lens

Location

I took the photo in the Mont Blanc ski region in the french Alps.

Time

It was afternoon. There was plenty of light yet.

Lighting

I was on a platform waiting for the cable car and the image of the clouds and the cables caught my attention. I waited for a better position of the cable cars and took the shot.

Equipment

This was a shot on a Canon EOS XSi, with a 55-250 lens. No other equipment was used.

Inspiration

I liked the misterious atmosphere created by the clouds, and also the cables guiding the eyes into the clouds and the mountain.

Editing

I processed the image in black and white. I also reframed it a bit to align the beggining of the cables to the corner of the picture and increased the contrast to highlight the cables and the cable car.

In my camera bag

I also carry a 18-55 mm lens and a polarizer filter.

Feedback

The Alps are a beautifull region. So, enjoy the view with a watchfull eye and you will find a lots of oppotunities to shoot really nice pictures.
