Behind The Lens
Location
I took this picture at the lake where I live. I normally took my camera with me because of the wildlife and activities on the lake. You never knew what you would find to shoot.Time
Because I went to the pool on a regular basis, the time of day was approximately 1 in the afternoon.Lighting
If anything about the lighting, I tend to use natural light. Some shots, as this one, are a one of a kind shoot. You take what you can get.Equipment
I shot this with a Nikon D-90 using a Nikkor 18-300mm, 1.35-5.56 lens. The lens gives me a lot of versatility in the shots I take.Inspiration
I was watching the Sandhill Crane family, doing their daily thing at the lake, when the juveniles started sparring with each other. So I shot a sequence of the actions and this was the best out of the shots I took.Editing
The only post processing I do is to get the colors to look like what I saw through the lens at the time.In my camera bag
That in itself is a tough question as it depends on what I am planning to shoot that day. For wildlife I carry the Nikon D-90 with the Nikkor 18-300mm lens.Feedback
Acttually, the only advice I could give is to carry your camera with you and be ready for the unexpected shot. With wildlife, it is a hit or miss thing on any given day. I am lucky as I live in an area where I have a variety of birds and other wildlife. I may go out to get shots of gators and end up with shots of baby owls or deer or snakes. Just don't give up as every day is different and you never know when you will get the special shot.
