Behind The Lens

Location

THis photograph was taken at the Caboolture Showgrounds in Caboolture, Queensland Australia

Time

This image was taken in full harsh sun as close to midday

Lighting

the light on this was all natural sun, it was a bright and clear day making the image really pop at you in black and white

Equipment

This image was captured handheld with a Canon 5D MKII using a Canon L 24-105mm

Inspiration

My daughter loves monster trucks, so we went specifically for this event, she was in complete awe when this truck was jumping, right before she ran back to mummy because it was so loud!

Editing

Post processing was a simple B&W conversion and a small crop to take out the fence on the left.

In my camera bag

All my gear is Canon, I normally carry 2 bodies, 50mm, 24-150mm, 70-200mm a couple of flashes, a Westcott Icelight, plenty of spare batteries and cards, an umbrella, towel and snacks. I rarely take a tripod but I do have a monopod for group photos by that's a different story for another day :)

Feedback

the best advise I can give anyone trying to capture a shot like this, get ready to run after you take the shot!
