Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo on my property. I had gone outside and noticed this mushroom in my yard and I had to take this photo of it. Not a common find for me to see.

Time

I took this photo in the mid afternoon. I was going to check my mail box and noticed this mushroom in my yard. I loved the color of it and I wanted to take a photo of it.

Lighting

I took this photo in the mid afternoon. The sun was casting just right on the mushroom and I loved how it lit up the mushroom and the ground. The colors just popped with the sun.

Equipment

I used a cannon rebel T6 and had it mounted on a mini tripod

Inspiration

I was inspired to take this photo due to the uniqueness of the mushroom. I loved how the sun and shadowing from my house lit up this mushroom and its surrounding. I used a mini tripod so I could get down and level with the mushroom. I wanted to get close as I could to it to capture its color and texture . I also liked the ground surroundings of the mushroom. The moss gave it a mystic magical look to the mushroom I thought.

Editing

Very little editing. I did some cropping and little light editing work on it. I try to keep it close to the original capture.

In my camera bag

I carry Canon EOS Rebel T6 DSLR Camera + EF-S 18-55mm, Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 and my 75-300mm zoom lens. Extra battery and memory cards. Lens cleaners and my mini tripod, Which I use a lot when it comes to close ups on small objects. I like to get down to the ground when it comes to flowers and small items; to get that eye level view.

Feedback

Dont be afraid to get dirty, get down to eye level and if you have to lay down on the ground to get that nice close up, its well worth it.
