Location
I took this photo on a back country logging road. We were searching for great photo locations, when we came across this perfect stretch of road.Time
Right before blue hour, in the evening. Just enough light to make an even lighting effect through the fog.Lighting
I always try and avoid direct light or sunshine. It makes the images super contrasty and difficult to work with. 99% of the time you will only see me with a camera early in the day or late in the evening.Equipment
Right now I use a Canon 6D Mark II. My go to lens is the Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8 III USM. It’s a quick and easy set up for any outdoor photographer.Inspiration
We left on our adventure knowing we wanted to show-off the yellow of that jacket. The moody greens of the forest and empty road was a perfect scene for it.Editing
I did yes. I used Adobe Lightroom to do basic color adjustments and then Photoshop to bring out the fog effect and refine the color adjustments. In my camera bag
I have barely anything I’m my camera bag. Other then my primary camera and lens, I carry another 6D Mark II and a Canon 85mm f/1.2L II.Feedback
Wait for the right weather. To get the best PNW moody vibes you need a good overcast day with some rain.
