Location
This photo was taken on a farm in Chilliwack, British Columbia during a car photoshoot with my model Kiesha.Time
We arrived at the farm at around 6am, it was a foggy and cold morning. The sun was just about to rise and the light was phenomenal.Lighting
We arrived right before sunrise and the weather was foggy. When the sun started to hit and it created very pleasing light rays and due to the fog the light had this very diffused look so everything is extra soft and even.Equipment
I shot with a Canon EOS M5, and my lens choice was a 50mm f1.8 and 85mm f1.8. No flash, and no tripod.Inspiration
Our goal was to create a classic look with the mustang and have Kiesha be the front and center of the shot. Kiesha's natural ability to pose made my job very easy.Editing
For post processing, I did not have to do a whole lot. The lighting was perfect at the time of shooting. All I did was to darken the shadow a little bit and some slight skin touching. Tweaked with the tone curve slightly, nothing crazy. In my camera bag
Nowadays I carry my Canon EOS R6 as my main camera, and RP as my back up. Lenses would be RF 28-70mm f2, EF 35mm f1.4 and Sigma 18-35 f1.8. I'll take my tripod if I am shooting landscape. I am a natural light shooter so no flash. A VND in my bag just incase the light is getting harsh.Feedback
Make sure to pay attention to the weather, prepare your model for the weather (make sure your subject understands it could be cold and call time). Clear expectations and communication with your subject of the feelings you are trying to create.
