Location
This photo was taken in my controlled home studio. A fellow co-worker is a model and re-en-actor for historical documentaries and live action history. This was his new cowboy outfit for a train robbery scene for a painter that we needed to capture some good studio shots.Time
Evening inside studio so lighting was not an issue totally controlled by me, the photographer.Lighting
The lighting was fully remote triggered flashes with different settings and camera on tripod. No steady light all off-camera flash.Equipment
Canon 80D on tripod, 24mm fixed lens\ Speed light on tripod, and cell phone as my remote to trigger the cameraInspiration
Inspiration was to push my new equipment in a studio setting. I mostly shoot events or photos on location outdoors with natural lighting. I wanted to stretch myself with equipment and studio settings to broaden my scope of work.Editing
Yes I always use Adobe CC Photoshop. I have some filters that I apply. Mostly a color correction mask I have built and a vignette. For portraits I love vignettes. Gives the subject a framed, focused, look.In my camera bag
Canon 80D, 24mm lens, 15-55mm lens, 25-100mm lens, batteries, 4-5 SD cards, microfiber wipes, flash, and a side suitcase with extra lighting/reflectors if neededFeedback
Remember to not be afraid to try new things. It took over 80 shots to get this one with the lighting that I loved while working with a remote and off camera flash. Art is not decided on knowledge, but on innovation.
