Location
This photo was captured on a Friday night in Cody, Wyoming at the Cody Nite Rodeo. The rodeo runs all 90 nights of the summer here in Cody, Wyoming.Time
This was shot at dusk, around 7:30p.m.Lighting
The lighting is always a nice, soft warm hue at dusk right before rodeo's kickoff at 8 p.m. There is about, 90% of the time anyways, a calm right before show time with clouds and filtered sunset lighting.Equipment
Canon 80D, 70-200mm lens, and a UV filter on my camera to protect the lens and help with glare at dusk.Inspiration
I was the hired photographer for a few years and I was working through a session of portraits of all rodeo contract personnel. I was trying to capture the people that work the rodeo and tell their story, not just photograph contestants.Editing
I used Adobe photoshop levels and a soft vignette that is all.In my camera bag
I have 2 cameras, 4 to 5 lens, 3 types of filters for UV and polarizing, batteries, tons of SD cards from 32GB to 64GB, pens, paper, business cards, remote flash, rain cover, cleaning clothes, and a tripod.Feedback
Look for those moments that you really are not expecting that are out of the norm.
