This photo was taken in May in Bandhavgahr National Park in India.Time
It was late in the afternoon. The mom and four cubs had been holed up in the cave during the 44’ heat of the day and came out later when it had started to cool.Lighting
The lighting was a little tricky with filtered sunlight, the dark cave, and the grass and trees we had to shoot through.Equipment
Sony a7iii with a 100-400 and 1.4 teleconverter. Beanbag required!Inspiration
The cubs were all over so these two had actually come back over to mom to feed. They struck this pose and the both plopped down to take some milk. I loved this one because it made me think they were sort of looking out for her too.Editing
Not much. Slight increase in contrast and saturation and a little fade out of the background all using Nik VivezaIn my camera bag
Two a7iii bodies, 100-400, 24-105, 16-35. That’s it.Feedback
Bandhavgahr was incredible and we had amazing sightings on every day we were in the park. It was great that they limited the number of jeeps in each zone to 28 and I was pleasantly surprised that we were only the few westerners meaning that there is much appreciation amongst the Indian locals for this inspiring and unforgettable place.
