I take this photo on my daily walk with my dog in the forrest around my home.Time
Unfortunately, we had this winter with very few days of snow, so that I can still remember exactly the morning. I hurried to take some nice pictures with my dog in the forest during the beautiful morning light. Actually, I had another place in my head but as we walked along the path and the light was so beautiful I decided to try a few pictures right away.Lighting
I wanted the picture to reflect the morning mood in the forest. The soft light should illuminate the background. So I needed a place in the forest that was at the right angle to the sun and I could take the lowest possible position. I did not use any artificial light sources.Equipment
This was a shot on a SONY ILCA-77M2 with a sigma 105mm 2.8 macroInspiration
I wanted to do an action picture in the snow so I also packed a little ball for my dog. It was a challenge to throw the ball and be fast enough with the camera. To animate my dog again and again was one of them. Since dogs do not always play exactly where I want to play ball, it always takes a few tries to get the right picture.Editing
I do the post-processing in Light Room. I take a look for the withe balance- because snow is there always a little bit tricky, make the deep a little bit higher and the sun bright with the light regulator. In my camera bag
The first thing is always my sony 16-50mm 2.8. Then I love so much the old minolta 50mm 1.4. If I like to do macro its the sigma 105mm 2.8 but I still like this for portraits. If I have a lot of space and do not shy away from the weight, comes with the sigma 70-210mm 2.8. When I will do landscapes also some filters.Feedback
If you have snow take the chance and try it. If you have a plan where you want to take the picture, still remain flexible enough to try a picture elsewhere. To motivate the dog again and again it is good to pack different toys and also to change the location.
