Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo while making my morning coffee on a Saturday. While looking for new ideas, I decided to try and make better photos of every day events.

Time

This is about 5 am, the lighting is indoor but the natural sun colour coming through the window definitely adds something.

This is about 5 am, the lighting is indoor but the natural sun colour coming through the window definitely adds something.

Equipment

This was an old cannon t3 I believe with a 50mm fixed lens. The camera was placed on top of a book to get the correct height.

Inspiration

One day I came to the realization that my favourite photos are mostly events that are in no way unique or extraordinary. So I started to take photos of things I do on a regular basis, trying to capture a new perspective. French presses coffee is my favourite!

Editing

For this photo I only turned the exposure up a little bit.

In my camera bag

Most of the time I enjoy pancake/fixed lenses, especially wide angle. I love to capture moments as I see them, and if it requires taking a step back, that’s even better!
