I've never seen a Hummingbird feed their young before - nice capture. And for 500mm, this is razor sharp and well lit. This is really a spectacular image of Mother Nature doing her thing. Congrats on a job well done!

Amazing on so many levels. Firsts congrats to the photographer as you required the patience and skill. Then the magnificence of the birds who are born with fat orange beaks that turn into long skinny ones. The best is the size of a thimble which is even more amazing. But what a great job and capture

thank you, it was definitely a lot of luck, those nests are small :)

Location
This photo was taken in Ladner, British Columbia, Canada near Boundary Bay.Time
The photo was taken near noon.Lighting
Although this was shot near noon the nest was shaded by trees so the light was still quite good.Equipment
At this time I was using my Nikon D7200 with a Tamron 150-600mm at 500mm on a tripod.Inspiration
This area has a high number of Annas hummers as well as a few Rufous and they nest here in the spring. I love hummers so I will likely be there searching for nests each year.Editing
I did a little sharpening a cropping and adjusted the white balance. In my camera bag
These days I am usually doing wildlife photography with my Nikon D850, Nikon 500mm PF lens, tripod and I usually carry my 1.4 teleconverter to use if the light is good and I need to get a little closer.Feedback
These nests can be very hard to find, they're so tiny. Watch the birds, see where they fly and if you spend enough time you will eventually find their nest as they will keep returning there.
