Nice. I love this spot. You must live near me. We have photographed a lot of the same spots.

This is one of several falls, Little Mashell Falls, on the Mashell River near Eatonville in Washington State. They're not huge falls but not little either so where they got name is a puzzler.Time
This was early afternoonLighting
It was a very shady area which I was glad to see since it was right in the middle of the day. Sun wasn't too high in the sky since it was almost winter and I liked how the sunlight seemed to just follow the path of the water at top of the falls and stayed thereEquipment
Nothing too fancy. Sony A6000 on a tripod. 16-50 kit lens with 10 stop nd filterInspiration
I love hiking to waterfalls and lakes and this one was on my radar for a while. I didn't know the area well but having seen other photos of the falls I knew I had to find them. This was my second venture to the river and still I managed to get off the trail and backtracked to the right path. It was the muddiest place I've ever walked throughEditing
Not too much. Brought up the exposure a bit and tweaked the contrast, shadows and colors in lightroomIn my camera bag
Nothing fancy with gear. Sony A6000. 16-50 and 55-210 lenses. 10 stop and 6 stop ND filters and circular polarizersFeedback
All I can say is to get outside and explore to find these beautiful things in nature that the good lord has put here for us. I'm not someone qualified to give technical advice but I've learned with waterfalls they seem to photograph better in subdued light. Here in Washington State there's no shortage of waterfalls and fortunately it is The Evergreen State and the trees make the lighting that I like all the better
