Location

This photo was taken in Bishop CA. I was attending a light trails photography course and this was my best shot.

Time

Night- Springtime. We were shooting from 10:00pm-2:00 am. This one was around midnight

Lighting

We were very careful to limit light of any kind.

Equipment

Camera, wide lens, tripod, remote for long shutter release. Post processing- photo stacking software.

Inspiration

I LOVE nature and night pictures. I’ve always wanted to learn how to create great Milky Way and star trail pics. The brislecone forest in Bishop has the oldest trees in the world. (https://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/inyo/specialplaces/?cid=stelprdb5129900)

Editing

No photoshop type post-processing. Separate photos combined using a free star stacking software.

In my camera bag

A little bit of everything now as my experience as a photographer has grown- extra lens, flash, filters, extra batteries...and a shower cap (to cover camera body in rain).

Feedback

Find someplace with minimal light pollution and invest in a quality shutter remote.
