This house is literally falling in on itself. That's what came to mind when I titled the photo.

This is the Castillo de San Cristobal in San Juan Puerto Rico

This was just before sunrise, taken at the Pumpkin Patch south of Arthur, Illinois

South Beach in Miami shoe store. I couldn't resist this photo with the beach reflecting back at me among the shoes.

The Corn and bean dust caused by harvesting the crops alway makes great sunsets in central Illinois. The dust particles defuse the light rays.

Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken during a family cruise to the Western Caribbean in May 2016. This was on Bay Island's Beach in Roatan. A small island off the mainland.

Time

The photo was take around 11:00 am

Lighting

It was a bright cloudless Caribbean day.

Equipment

I use a Nikon Coolpix S7000, freehand

Inspiration

The symmetry with the arrangements of the beach chairs set between the palm trees. The serine quiet of the ocean and the peacefulness of the location, no worries, phones or people. A truly Happy Place to just unwind and relax

Editing

I cropped the photo to give it more balance

Feedback

I try and observe my surroundings when I am out and about with my camera. I look for normal everyday objects that have some persona appeal that catches my eye. It could be the shadowing, the way the lights acts to enhance or bring attention to the item or scene, or it might just be the relationship between the scene or object I want to photograph and it's surroundings. I also look for different angles that I can use to put myself in a position to capture the moment a that best reflects what I am feeling about my photographic subject matter. I take many photos of the scene from many angles and with today's digital cameras, it is easy to delete what you don't want. I am an armature photographer, self taught, and the more photos I take the better I have come to understand how lighting, balance and the rule or thirds play an important part in capturing the emotion of the moment.
