Simply outstanding in all the aspects of picture taking and presentation. I also like the careful coordination of all the colors and the demeanor of both the model and the lion. Great photo!!

Location
The photograph was taken in the home studio.Time
Round twelve o’clock in the morning.Lighting
We always try to use the most of daylight, direct and diffuse light. Also, a gold reflector screen, which made the eyes more evident.Equipment
For this Photograph a full frame camera was used with a 24-70mm Lens, mounted on a tripod and no flash light, only daylight and the gold reflector screen.Inspiration
Well the photo was for an advertisement campaign for the jewelry serie “SFYNX” by FERFERRO, they wanted to have something strong that reflected the name and the timeless design of the jewelry. So FERFERRO gave us a free hand in coming up with multiple creative ideas, from whom they had chosen the concept with the LION. What Inspired the idea behind the girl together with the lion was the fable about “Androcles and the Lion”. Source: “The Fables of Æsop”. Shortly told, this is about a young man who had the opportunity to help a wounded Lion. They became friends, and in the end, after many years had passed, the Lion helped him in return.Editing
Yes we did a little post processing on the pictures, some color grading, removing some insimularities, and we gave the picture behind the model and the lion a more calm background. We try not to go over the top with the post-processing.In my camera bag
Next to the particular weather we want for our work (depends on the concept), we have always a reflector screen, a tripod, and we take multiple cameras with us, with fully charged batteries and back-up flash cards. The other equipment depends on the work itself.Feedback
Make sure to make a concept. Find a good location. Suit the overall styling to your concept, is there a model? If so, what does she wear, what is she doing, how does she look (think of clothes, hair and makeup and accessories)? Is there a story behind it? This all can be very important to envision your desired outcome. And most important of all with this sort of photographs; Take your time. We’ve also made a lot of photographs with leopards, and it all depends on timing and most of all patience.
