Location
The photo is taken in the beautiful village of Holmsbu, where Drammensfjord and Oslofjord meet.Time
The location is good throughout the day, but this image was taken at sunset in late April.Lighting
The set up is fairly typical for a sunset scene with the use of a graduated ND filter.Equipment
The shot is taken with a Canon 70D with a Tamron 10-24 lens on a tripod.Inspiration
I have scouted the location before and on this occasion the light was right. Sometimes try, try and try again works!Editing
I am far from a wizard when it come PP, but the image has been through some contrast and white balace adjustments for the coloring and some adjustments of the shadows, to bring up the reflections in the water. In my camera bag
As much as I would love to have a lot of great gear and glass in my bag, unfortunately I don't. I have a few of ND filters, graduated and solid for additional light control, my trusty Canon 70D, Tamron 10-24, Tamron 18-270 og my prize possession, a Sigma Art 24mm. With this sort of scene I always use a tripod and try to aim at using the lenses sweetspot to avoid too much noise etc.Feedback
Scouting a good location is important. Once you have found it, don't give up on it even if the conditions are not right the first, second or even the third time. Patience is a virtue! However, check that the conditions will be available at the time of day or season you can get there! At my location, this shot is only available in spring and in the fall because of where and when the sun sets. When you are aware of these things, at some stage magic happens!
