I took this photo in down town Chicago! My friend Colin(subject in photo) and I where taking the L(Metra Station Blue Line) to go somewhere and the idea of this photo came to mind! Chicago is a big sandbox for photographers, I love exploring it.Time
This photo is crazy and one of my favorites actually! It was pretty late at night, but luckily the underground system had lights!Lighting
The lighting in this pic is awesome to me. I had no control over them because we where underground! My intention was for some dramatic lighting, and it turned out pretty well! I really like the outcome, its pretty much what I was hoping would happen!Equipment
Oh man, I used a cannon T5i! With the Standard inbox lens!Inspiration
I've been wanting to take a photo like this for a while! I've seen crazier photos with a still object and motion in the background! My photography teacher, shout out to her real quick, thank you Mrs.Nustra! She showed the class these really cool examples back in my sophomore year of high school, they where really interesting and I knew I had to do something like it!Editing
For a picture like this, you usually need a tripod and really good timing. I for one didn't have a tripod, what I ended up doing was placing my camera on the public stone bench they have down there! I had to use my resources and it worked out pretty well!In my camera bag
I always carry around the essentials! My cannon T5i is always a must. I carry around my Polaroid as well along with an extra film pack, you never know when you need to save some memories! I only carry two lenses. My standard lens and zoom in lens!Feedback
Chicago has a lot of movement going on, its a really busy city. You dont have to be in the subway! Go on the street or just anywhere! Just be sure your shutter speed is long! Thats the key to get a photo like mine! A longer shutter speed lets more light into your camera and runs the risk of blowing out or overexposing your shot! Theres no right setting for this, its more of a trial and error type of thing! Have fun most importantly!
