Behind The Lens

Location

I was invited to take photos for a youth group pizza party buy a friend who makes pizza, in the community where I lived close to Rosarito, Baja California, Mexico.

Time

The sky was showing beautiful colors at about 5:50 pm so I started shooting many photos, many compositions both portrait and landscape, 29 photos in the series. This shot was taken at 6:01 pm and was the 25th shot in the series.

Lighting

The sun had already set when the colors started changing. For those who love to shoot sunsets with clouds make sure you wait till the colors stop evolving!

Equipment

Shot with a handheld Nikon 5300 with a Nikkor 18-55mm lens

Inspiration

I went to take photos of the event. The sky was a bonus... and I'm a sucker for colorful skies.

Editing

Post processing was done in Lightroom.... in 2015 so it was an earlier version. I would share a screen shot of my basic settings but this form isn't set up to accept graphics.

In my camera bag

I'm a subscriber to KISS photography... keeping things simple. I have my camera and 18-55mm lens, a Nikkor 70-210mm, extra battery, extra cards, lens cleaner and microfiber cloths, uv filter, pen and pad for notes. I have a tripod which I use occasionally for slow shutter speed shots.
