Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on a small ranch in IL.

Time

This photo was taken late one morning on a chilly winter day. I remember because my winter coat kept getting in my way:)

Lighting

It was an overcast day which are some of my favorite days to get out and shoot.

Equipment

This was taken with my Nikon D3100

Inspiration

There is something magical about winter and the beauty of this dog...I couldn't not try to capture it.

Editing

Because I did not have my tripod I did do some sharpening.

In my camera bag

I don't carry a bag, it slows me down. I carry my camera with either a 18-55mm lens or a 55-300mm lens. It all depends on what I'm photographing.

Feedback

I still have a lot to learn myself and this was somewhat of a lucky shot. When I captured this I was down on one knee, using the other to help stabilize my camera and reduce shake. I remember saying his name, and to my surprise, he froze and looked right at me.
