Location
The photo was taken in front of a simple black background.Time
As this is a studio shot, the time of the day doesn't really matter. But I can remember, that it was shot in the late evening.Lighting
I've used two spot light, lighting the face from the front and the left and one spot light from up high, to give the hair a bit of a glowing effect. I didn't use any backlight, because I wanted the silhouette to fade out into the shadows.Equipment
I've used my Canon EOS 6D with an 17-40mm L-Lens.Inspiration
I wanted to create a high contrast black and white portrait.Editing
Yes, I#ve retouched the face a little and sharpened the image. In my camera bag
I normally have my EOS 6D with 17-40 mm f4L and my 1D Mark II with 70-300mm IS USM in my bag. Additionally I carry a tripod and a remote etc. ...Feedback
Just try and take your time. Good things will happen with time.
