Location
I took this photo just after noon on my parents farm in Northwestern, Wisconsin. It had snowed the night before and blanketed everything and I wanted to capture some of it before it started to melt.Time
This picture was taken on December 27th, 2014 at 12:21pm.Lighting
The lighting was from the noon sun obscured by clouds, a perfect winter afternoon.Equipment
This a stitched panoramic image that I made using 11 pictures from my trusty Canon 60D and my kit 18-135mm lens.Inspiration
The snow from the night before and being at my childhood home for Christmas gave me a nostalgic feel and I wanted to get a few pictures of the place before the livestock, plows and blowing leaves dirtied up everything.Editing
I used 11 portrait pictures and stitched them together using Adobe Photoshop CC. Ran the image through Color Efex Pro2 plugin and then did my final retouching in Lightroom CC.In my camera bag
I make a point always have my 60d with me. Many of my shots I get on my commute to and from work. My typical bag loadout consists of my Canon 60d with a 18-135mm Canon lens (kit lens with my 60d) a Sigma 70-300mm, a Canon 50mm 1.8, and my Rokinon 14mm 1.2 for night sky shooting. Spare batteries, a head lamp, and a phone battery pack.Feedback
For winter shots like I try and get out early to get the snow pristine and i try not to walk through anything that I want to possibly shoot. Make sure you battery is charged too :)
