Behind The Lens
Location
The photo was taken in the wooden area of 'parc de l'amour' in the French Alps city, Grenoble. It was in February, just after the winter season. At this particular time of the year, this wooden area is covered with dried fallen leaves. This gave such great atmosphere and the brownish color tone as depicted in the picture.Time
I wanted rich shadows as well as the light peep through the woods that would make mysterious surroundings in the picture. Before the photoshoot, I have observed the light variation during different time of the day. After many observation, I choose to take the photo in the late after noon, before the golden hour: around 4pm.Lighting
I only used the natural sun light in this picture. Since where I live, the day time varies depending on the season. In each season, it is required to study the light variation thoroughly to get the correct amount of light.Equipment
I used canon 500D DSLR camera. The canon 50mm lens was used for this photo.Inspiration
The photo was taken from an old painting I have kept with me. It was exactly the same theme: A women collecting the woods in the forest. I just recreated the same idea in a different way.Editing
Since the original photo did not have the depth of the color which was essential to this photo, the color tone of the picture was deepened using photoshop. In my camera bag
I have canon 500D camera, lenses: a kit lens (18-50mm), portrait lens (50mm, f/1.8) and canon 55-250 mm lens, then a tripod.Feedback
I truly believe photography is not about capturing beautiful things; instead it is about capturing things in a beautiful way. Color and light defines most of my photographs. The soul of this picture is the color uniformity. Special care was given to get a matching color between the surroundings, the ground, the model's dress&hair style etc. Observation and imagination, that's all it required to get similar picture.
