Fabulous flower capture. I do love flowers and seeing them from another photographer's perspective.

Location
This image was taken in my backyard. I enjoy finding new blooms that nature has blessed us with. I usually roam around with my macro lens attached.Time
The time was 12:10 pm. The sun was out but this bloom was in the shade.Lighting
Being the sun was shining brightly there was no need for any other lighting. The sun can be difficult to shoot in at this time of day, so I attempted to find a subject in a darker part of the yard. We all know what hazards we face while shooting in mid day sun light.Equipment
This was shot with my Sony SLT a65V with my go to Tamron 90mm Macro lens.Inspiration
This little flower had just bloomed a day or two before. It was very fresh with no signs of browning or pest infestation. It was begging for my attention.Editing
I always bring my RAW images to Lightroom where I can adjust for any mistakes I may have encountered while photographing with manual settings. I did bump the contrast and clarity a tiny amount for get a little more vibrance. I also played with Temperature And Tint slider to richen my colors. In my camera bag
I always have my a65 at the ready with my macro lens attached. In my bag you will find a Sigma 70-300mm and a 35-90mm lens along with a Minolta 50mm lens. Also my lens cleaning apparatus and a couple remote shutter releases.Feedback
Take shots at different angles, sometimes it works better than shooting straight on.
