This tunnel goes underneath the Hamburg Harbor to the other side of the Elbe River. A big elevator takes people, cars and bicycles down. The tunnel is 1398ft long and 84ft below the surface. It was built in 1907 and is open 24 hours a day for pedestrians and bicycles, 5:20 am to 8pm daily for cars. There are 2 tunnels side by side.
