I visited New Zealand for the first time in April of this year and when visiting this famous tree there was no water around it and they skies were not as dramatic.

Great long exposure on a tree that may be the most photographed on the planet!

Location
The one tree at Lake Wanaka, New ZealandTime
Early morning , about half an hour after sunrise.Lighting
Just an awesome morning light , nice cloud movement and not a touch of wind made shooting this location an incredible experience.Equipment
This is taken with a canon 5d mk2, canon 17-40L, a feisol tripod and markins ball head, using a Lee big stopper filterInspiration
Its an iconic location I have shot many times so i wanted to do something different this time. Wanaka is my absolute favourite place in New Zealand it has everything a landscape photographer could want.Editing
Because of the big stopper I had to do a lot of colour correction, then tidied up some dust spots and removed a bit of plant life in the lower left frame. Oh and also all the typical raw stuff, a little contrast etc.In my camera bag
Currently I am shooting with a canon 6d and sony a7r. Lenses are 16-35f4L IS, 24mm tse mk2, 14mmf2.8, sigma 50mm f1.4 art. I have other stuff (gigapan, timelapse gear etc) depending on what I want to shoot.Feedback
Nail your composition first, then work on the exposure before using the 10 stop filter otherwise its tricky to shoot this stuff, make sure you get an app to calculate your shutter times and adjust for the true strength of your filter. Also try and compensate for the sun rising or falling and changing light
