This image was taken on a simple desk top set up at homeTime
From memory the image was taken early afternoonLighting
To achieve the lighting effect I was after, I blacked out as much light as possible, then set up two studio flashes at about 45% to the subject, using only the modelling lights to try and get nice even lightingEquipment
Camera :- Canon 7D Lens :- Canon 60mm Macro Tripod :-Manfrotto with a 322RC2 head Flash :- Two studio flashes ( using modelling lights only Background :- A simple piece of black clothInspiration
At the time I was interested in images I had sen that where very simple, but very bold,Editing
Processing was very minimal, the image was converted to black and white using Photoshop, with a little sharpening. It's pretty much how it cam off the cameraIn my camera bag
Normally in my bag you will find, Canon 7D, Sigma 10-20, Canon 18-200 & 70 -300 & 50, Canon 430EX Speedlite, and a selection of ND filtersFeedback
Give yourself plenty of time to set up, for this image you have to control the lighting to get some form of balance, I tend to use live view to check the lighting etc
