Behind The Lens
Location
This photograph was taken in the Mt. Evans Wilderness Area, west of Denver, Colorado.Time
The photo was taken just as the sun touched the western peaks.Lighting
The lighting was phenomenal and I remember hoping that I was talented enough to capture these two beautiful creatures in the waning light.Equipment
I was using a Cannon 5D with a Tamron 28-75 mm lens.Inspiration
I was watching a herd of goats work their way down the mountain towards my position, and they ended up walking within 1 few yards of me as they progressed toward their bedding grounds. These two paused to take a last look on this promontory, as it were, before following the others preceeding them.Editing
Minimal processing was done in PSE6. I always shoot in RAW format, which allows more capture of color and details in post processing. In my camera bag
I now carry a Canon 7D for wildlife photography and a Canon 5Dll for landscapes. Sometimes I carry both bodies, with an assortment of lens's, depending upon my expectations for the outing.Feedback
Patience is a virtue. Anticipate, and have your subjects in focus and the camera at the ready, as you will not usually not have time to capture the action from a cold start.
