Behind The Lens

Location

Corfu, Greece

Time

This was around 7 am, and was taken through our port hole of a ship!

Lighting

This may look as though it was a sunset, but it was a sunrise!

Equipment

Fuji s1000, don't know what lens it came with, it was not removable. No flash used.

Inspiration

Because this was a sunrise..... I guess that's why it was something I had to capture because it seemed so different then I had ever experienced. I had never been on a ship before and we were touring the Greek Islands. I didn't have time to run up on deck, because that ship wasn't going to be in the path of the sun light for long.

In my camera bag

I keep things to a minimum. I have a different camera since this picture was taken. I have a 40-150 mm lens and a 37 mm lens (camera came with) extra battery & charger, cleaning kit, XD picture cards, tripod strapped to bottom of bag, flash is flip up on top & lens hood.

Feedback

Have the "eye", look for things that can frame well, but don't be afraid to experiment. Moving close to an object, cutting it off in a different way than the "norm"... get down low, tip the camera at an angle AND take lots, and lots of shots, you might end up with "one" that captures the best for that subject. (Oh, and a little bit of luck!!)
