Location
This photo opportunity happened upon me as I was shooting some wildflowers in my backyard. The cat just wanted my attention and let me snap some photos of him between petting sessions.Time
I tool this picture in the morning at around 7am on 9/26/2014.Lighting
The sun had just risen, so the lighting was soft but enough to add contrast to the grass around him. I purposely didn't use any additional lighting because I thought it might scare him away.Equipment
For this photo I used my Nikon D5200 with a 40mm f/2.8G Macro lens. No tripod or flash was used.Inspiration
This photo came to me by chance, yet he was so full of energy, that I just had to try and snap a picture of him before he moved on.Editing
For this photo I left it as is, to keep the emotions and realistically represent the cat.In my camera bag
Since I am more of a beginning photographer, I only have my Nikon D5200 and the Nikon 40mm Macro I used for this photo. Additionally I like carrying around a tripod with me to get sharper landscape and cityscape shots.Feedback
My advice for other photographers is to make a game plan of the shots you want to capture, but don't be set with taking just the shots you wanted to take. Let the moment play a part in your photos and it will make photography more rewarding.
