Location
This photo was taken in Tokyo in the Naka-meguro district. I lived two stations away and always heard about the beautiful cherry blossoms in the area so I decided to check it out for myself. I stumbled upon a perfectly placed bridge just a short walk from the train station and arrived at this shot after much trial and error with various anglesTime
This shot was taken in the mid-afternoon on an early spring day when all the cherry blossoms across Tokyo had just begun to bloom.Lighting
I noticed how the sky at this time of day was almost identical to the hue of the cherry blossoms which further created a sense of an almost endless array of blossoms.Equipment
I used a point and shoot Canon Powershot SD750 to take this photo without a tripod.Inspiration
I was inspired to take this photo because this scenery was previously only conceived of in my dreams of how Tokyo would look in my most idealized perceptions. I feel like I was able to capture the image I was searching for when my mind wandered through the idea of studying abroad in Japan.Editing
No post-processing.In my camera bag
My camera bag normally consists of a Pentax K-5, Pentax DA 50mm 1.8 lens, Hoya 52mm ND-400x 9 stop filterFeedback
Take as many shots from as many angles as you can. Take the time to look over all the images you shot and make yourself understand why some angles worked and others did not. Apply this thought process to future shots and improve.
