I took this photo in Kentucky on Little Sheperds Trail. Its a 38 mile road located on Pine Mountain.Time
I took this photo around 8 am. My fiance and I go to Little Sheperds Trail quite often. I have taken numerous shots up there but this is my all time favorite. The colors and scenery on this particular morning were just stunning. I knew I wanted this shot and I got it.Lighting
The lighting was all natural, I just happened to be at the right place at the right time.Equipment
This image was taken with a Nikon D3000, and Nikkor 18-55mm lens.Inspiration
I'm from Southeastern Kentucky, our mountains are very beautiful and the scenery here is unbelievable. I often find myself off road taking landscape and animal shots. This particular morning the fog was just pouring in and the lighting was beautiful. I found myself out of my car, in the middle of the road gear in hand. I couldn't miss this chance to catch this fog as it came rolling towards me. I tweaked my settings and shot. As I shot I leaned forward which gave the shot a look of movement, resulting in this image. It turned out beautiful.Editing
I did minor post processing on this shot, Cropped, adjusted sharpness, contrast, saturation and exposure just a tiny bit.In my camera bag
The equipment I usually carry is a Nikon D5500, Nikkor 18-55 mm lens, Nikkor 55-300 mm lens, Nikon Macro, Nikon SB-500 Speedlight, Filters, Extra Battery, Battery Charger, SD cards, Lens Cleaning Kit,Feedback
My advice for others would be to get out and explore some of the trails in your local area and do it in the early morning hours. Have patience, work with natural light and fast shutter speeds. Off road trails are some of the prettiest places I've been. Early morning and late afternoon tends to be best. The colors and lighting are magnificent during these hours.
