Location
This photo was taken at Sunwapta Falls, Jasper at the onset of Fall (October '21)Time
Surprisingly this was taken after sunset. The weather was gloomy and no clear skies.Lighting
We planned to reach here earlier to catch the sunset at the Falls, but Night sight on Google pixel captured it amazingly.Equipment
I took multiple shots of this falls from my phone (pixel 5) as well my camera (Nikon z6). I had to use a tripod to steady the phone to capture the moving water.Inspiration
Ever since my trip to glacier national park last year (2020), I wanted to capture falls with long exposure. Sunwapta Falls is beautiful with snow clad mountains in the backgroundEditing
Yes, I didn't have to do a lot of post processing as the shot was almost good. I did have to adjust the white balance near the edges for the trees and also get the mountain in visible in the backgroundIn my camera bag
I always carry a Nikon 24-70 mm f/4 kit lens along with Nikon 35mm f/1.8 lens for low light photography. These lenses have been good till now. I do carry an ND filter to capture falls with long exposure during daylight.Feedback
It's always difficult to plan for the perfect shot in places where the weather has a mind of it's own. On a clear sky day, this picture would have been amazing. But it does require patience to get it to right.
