Behind The Lens

Location

This is a juvenile Pacific Gull who was hunting dinner at Port Lonsdale Victoria.

Time

Taken mid to.late afternoon, port Lonsdale was a fair drive from where I was living at the time

Lighting

Given that is was takennin the harsher day light and the reflections on the waves made finding a good angle interesting

Equipment

Olympus E 620 with zuko 600mm zoom and a big rock I could rest the camera on as I sat behind it

Inspiration

Pure luck, being in the right place at the right time. You just don't see this every day

Editing

I really don't like post processing, with this image all I did was balance the light/contrast

In my camera bag

I have the Olypus E620 plus an array of lenses and a Nikon 7200 along with various tripods

Feedback

For a photo like this the best thing you can do is keep going to places where you are likely to see the animals you want and be prepared to sit quietly for long periods of time
