Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on the back deck of home during a mid-Covid wedding celebration.

Time

It was early evening in August

Lighting

The lighting is all natural and takes advantage of “the golden hour” close to sunset.

Equipment

This was shot with a simple canon rebel and kit lens. Nothing fancy

Inspiration

This was not a traditional wedding party photo. I was Ted to capture the pattern and texture of the suit and the smoke added a bit of edge.

Editing

I enhanced the texture a little in Lightroom but o kept the colors as true to the original as possible

In my camera bag

I normally have the whole shebang: lights, lenses, tripod, diffusion filters…the works. But this was a simple event and I wanted to capture it in a simple and natural way

Feedback

You don’t need expensive equipment and lots of “stuff” to be a great photographer. If you have an eye for composition, your photos will stand out.
