Location
This photo was taken at bird park in Jakarta - Indonesia, the bird was in open cage.Time
This was taken on April 8th, 2019, in the evening about 3 - 4 PM.Lighting
I used available light, cloudy in the sky and there was a shadow of tree.Equipment
This was shot in Nikon D7000 and 70-300mm f/4-5.6 VC Tamron Lens, without tripod and flash off.Inspiration
I want to make a close up on the head of this bird, trying as close as I can. I look that this bird have a colorful feathers on the head and neck area. The bird was closed in a tree, so it's make a dark background, blend with the black feathers of this bird.Editing
I did HDR post processing to make this photo more details and bring up the colors, and also make more darker in the backgroud, adding black color. Touching on eyes area, adding the details and brightness. In my camera bag
For birding photography, usually I bring my Nikon D7000, and 1 tele lens - Tamron 70-300mm f/4-5.6 VC and 1 Sigma lens 17-50mm f/2.8. 1 Flash, 2 Nikon camera batteries.Feedback
Birding photography is challenging, be patient to get a good moment of the birds since mostly the birds are moving. I think, tele lens is only a good choice for birding so we cant get a good close up.
