Behind The Lens
Location
I was visiting my daughter in Madison, WI in February 2019 when a snow storm moved in and shut down most of the city. Rather than staying in our hotel room, my friend and I put on our snow boots and went trekking through the city with my camera. This was a bit of refuge from the weather under an overpass where I captured this shot.Time
It was midday.Lighting
I liked the image moving from the darker shadows under the bridge into the light and white snow just beyond its shelter.Equipment
I used my trusty Sony A57 with the factory lens. :)Inspiration
I am always exploring and trying to focus my attention on angles, lines and composition to see what I can capture. This was just what I saw that day in that snow storm.Editing
I use Lightroom to adjust the contrast, color saturation and light if needed but try to stay true to the actual shot I was capturing by not altering it too much.In my camera bag
I keep my Sony and the factory lens with me on all travels. I sometimes bring my telephoto lens but find I can do most of what I want with my basic lens and a little imagination.Feedback
Pay attention to lines, light and angles to really capture what you see to share with your audience.
