Location
This photo was taken in a small home studio, where our colleague photographer, my wife, and I were working on a TFP-based photoshoot.Time
As it was daytime and there were windows in the studio, we used smaller aperture numbers to avoid daylight influence on the exposure.Lighting
I took only one strobe for this shot, directed from the left of the scene and tilted down from above the model.Equipment
I used my old Nikon D700 camera and 50mm lens - old Nikkor 50mm f/1.4 AF-D. The strobe was Quadralite Move 400, if I remember it correctly, with a rectangle softbox attached to it.Inspiration
Inspiration to take this photo came in between shooting sessions. I wanted some casual shot, and the model helped me a lot to create it.Editing
There was no special postprocessing, just some standard highlight darkening, shadow brightening, and increasing contrast using Whites and Blacks controls in Lightroom. In my camera bag
In my bag, I always keep all my stuff all the time to ensure that nothing is forgotten in case I must leave in a hurry. I have Nikon D700 body and a set of old primes including Nikkor AF 50mm f/1.4 D, Nikkor AF 24mm f/2.8 D and Nikon AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G IF-ED. A Speedlight is a must too, and not only in low light conditions. Most of the time I use Nikon SB-900 flash unit.Feedback
If you have an idea, try to fulfill it any time you have an opportunity and do not wait for a special occasion to come.
