I took this photo on Isla Isabele, one of the Galápagos islands.Time
A little past midnight.Lighting
However it was the middle of the night, there was a lot of light coming from the moon and stars. A situation I've never seen before it was breathtaking standing there and watching the moon rise up below the stars.Equipment
This was shot on my Nikon d5500, with my 24mm f1.8 sigma lens. I used my little gorillapod and attached it on a wooden fence in front of the water.Inspiration
I was walking on the island and saw more and more stars showing up in the sky together with this blood orange moon and I was just looking around for the perfect spot to take some photos. Eventually I decided to go back to this place where I was earlier today, a wooden platform in front of the ocean. The walk there was a bit scary with only the light of my flashlight. It was a tiny forestry boardwalk covered with many marine iguanas but after the seeing the shots that I took it was definitely a great idea to go there.Editing
I did some post-processing but very little. Because of the blood orange color of the moon and the 1-2 sec exposure time, the photo looked a little warm/orange so I decreased the temperature and I also edited the sky a little bit to lighten up the stars. In my camera bag
I recently bought a new Nikon body, d7100, my sigma 24mm f1.4, sigma 14-24mm f2.8, sigma 18-250mm f/3.5-6.3. Besides that I love my little gorillapod since it's very compact and easy to bring and also I have a filter set up with a bunch of grey filters.Feedback
I love the set up camp at random places and wake up in the middle of the night to then walk around to see the sky and stars.
