Behind The Lens

Location

I made this photograph at Cabo Branco Station - Science, Culture and Arts, in the city of João Pessoa, Paraíba / Brazil. A beautiful site designed by Oscar Niemeyer.

Time

It was in the first hour after sunset, around 6:30 p.m.

Lighting

I had to use an external flash to compensate for the low artificial lighting of the place.

Equipment

Canon EOS 70d, Lens Canon 50mm (1.8), Flash Externo Yongnuo Yn565ex III.

Inspiration

For this essay I used the urban theme. Then nothing like a Bokeh with city lights to identify this theme.

Editing

To accentuate Bokeh, I pre-edited with Adobe Lightroom Classic CC and later took the photo to Adobe Photoshop CC where an overlay would be applied.

In my camera bag

I carry my three Canon lenses in my photo bag: 18-55mm, 70-300mm and 50mm. In addition to filters: Cokin Paris Infrared 89B (Black & White) and Cokin Paris Red (Black & White). What's more, I carry a Yongnuo Yn565ex III External Flash and a Macro Led Flash.

Feedback

The secret lies in the auxiliary light and the positioning of the model in relation to the backlight. Using a timer and tripod may help.
