Behind The Lens

Location

I made this photograph in a wonderful place where I lived: Coimbra. The city of knowledge that so well received me and my family.

Time

No doubt, this is my photograph that I like the most. I was returning from university and that day I had taken the camera. I took a longer route than normal, to enjoy the beautiful sunset. I did not have the tripod so I had to put the backpack on the floor and support the camera on top.

Lighting

I tried to take advantage of the angle that best caught the reflection of the lights of the bridge of cars, in the background, which allowed to create an effect that adds to the reflection of the illumination of the pedestrian bridge.

Equipment

I used a Canon 70d, with a lens: 18-55mm f/3.5.

Inspiration

I learned to admire the sunset in Coimbra. Whenever I walked to the University I wondered what photograph I could do with those colors and reflections. The boat, was never in that position, in the two years and means that I lived in Coimbra. Only that day he was in there.

Editing

I have a habit of working with the raw file. I used Adobe Lightroom to enhance some colors and enhance some shadows to cause the direction of looking at the boat.

In my camera bag

I carry my three Canon lenses in my photo bag: 18-55mm, 70-300mm and 50mm. In addition to filters: Cokin Paris Infrared 89B (Black & White) and Cokin Paris Red (Black & White).

Feedback

Check the weather, the sunrise and sunset times. Each season of the year the color of the sky changes, the elements that make up the landscape also change.
