Behind The Lens
Location
This photo was taken in Southold, New York which is on the North Fork of Long Island.Time
This was taken late afternoon. I am in the process of building a house and went to see it. When leaving, I could see the bay and saw a beautiful sky with fog starting to roll in. I drove down to the water and saw an unusual type of mist coming in. I had my camera in the car, so grabbed it and took a few pictures.Lighting
The light was all natural.Equipment
I used a Canon 7D Mark ll with a Canon 70-200 lens. This was hand held and I did not use a flash.Inspiration
The weather and amazing sky inspired me to take this. I had maybe a ten minute window period of a very unusual fog and mist that was breathtaking.Editing
I did minimal post-processing in Lightroom. In my camera bag
My camera bag usually has my Canon 7d Mark ll and a Canon 70-200 lens. I always bring my Canon Fisheye as it is just a fun lens to have. I usually pack my Tamron 150-600 lens as I enjoy wildlife photography and I always bring a monopod with me.Feedback
My only advice is to always bring a camera with you. You never know what you will run into or how the weather will change. Keep an eye on the sky as it can change rapidly. I have learned this the hard way and have missed out on some wonderful sights. Now, I rarely leave home without a camera.
