Location
This photo was taken at one of my favourite spots down by Lake Windermere. Every night the boat shop window brightens up the marina like a little studio. It’s super quiet down by the lake and the sounds the water makes creates a super relaxed atmosphere.Time
Night timeLighting
The lighting is from the shop window of a boat shop. Each photo of a boat is surrounded by white LED strips creating a super bright light perfect for night portraits. I can go as low as ISO 100 on certain lensesEquipment
Canon 5D Mark III with the Canon 50mm f/1.8Inspiration
I hade taken a photo of Keziah at this spot before and had great responses on the photo. She turned up wearing this starry jumper and knew I had to photograph her again at the same spot.Editing
I like to move the s curve up slightly to make the black point a little brighter. The blacks become grey without ruining the contrast. I tbink it’s nicer on skin tones. In my camera bag
Canon 5D, my 24-70 f/4 because I mainly do video work. Lenses I carry are the Jupiter-9 80mm f/2, Canon 50mm f/1.8, Canon 40mm f/2.8 and the Super Takumar 200mmFeedback
One great trick to get a natural smile is to laugh myself, which makes them laugh along too. And always focus on the eyes.
