Behind The Lens

Location

This bear cub and his mom live in the Bavarian forest in Germany. Well, I wish to say, this photo was taken in the wild, but nope. The Bavarian forest has many animal reservation and these bears live near Neuschönau town.

Time

I was in Neuschönau reservation all day and waiting for snow, finally in the afternoon the snow storm began. This was my moment to take a few pictures..

Lighting

I have to say.. light was terrible. Cloudy and dark.. but what would you expect in January?:)

Equipment

Photo was taken by Canon EOS 6D and Canon EF 100-400mm. My tripod in this moment was part of the fence :D

Inspiration

I love animals and nature. They inspire me in everything. It's kind of relax theraphy..

Editing

Only some basic editing in Lightroom..

In my camera bag

It depends on type of photography. Mostly I use 50mm and 24-105mm lenses for reportage.. For animals I use 100-400mm and if I can get closer - 17-40mm lens (interesting results!)

Feedback

Winter photos are magical but anytime you need a good light or something special for your photo. It's not easy taking pictures when snow creating such a big light contrast. Second thing - you have to wait a long time for animals. The closer they are better for you. All you need is patience and good luck..
