Location

The image was taken in Fayetteville, Georgia, USA. There had been several days of heavy rain and the lake was overfilled. The rain stopped, the fog formed at the lake surface and there was no wind.

Time

Photographed in the late afternoon after the rain finally stopped.

Lighting

I loved the bare trees and the fog and mist just blurred the background.

Equipment

Used a Nikon D800, no flash, Nikon 28 - 300.

Inspiration

The landscape just spoke to me. Hubby was driving and I asked him to stop and back up. This was on a small, little used back road.

Editing

There was a little blue sky starting to peek through so I converted this to black and white.

In my camera bag

I use Nikon D850 and D800. My walking around lens is a Nikon 28 - 300. That way I'm ready for anything. I also have macro lenses, lensbaby and Nikon 200 - 500. The Nikon 500 Prime is just a bit heavy for me. When I need my tripod it is a Gitzo. I always keep a large trash bag in my camera bag - if I need to be on my stomach to get a shot and it is wet I can use the bag to lay on. Plus if you get caught in the rain, it protects the equipment.

Feedback
