Behind The Lens

Location

This portrait was taken at my home in Minsk, Belarus.

Time

I took this photo at morning, because I wanted this effect of natural light portrait and morning time is perfect for that.

Lighting

As I've already mentioned, I wanted to take a natural portrait so I chose a morning time and I was shooting just in front of window.

Equipment

This was shot with Canon 1100D with 50mm f/1.8 lens.

Inspiration

The idea of photo shoot was to take a similar portrait of a girl with colorful hair (the result I also have in my profile) that I saw somewhere but to be honest, this photo is actually one that I took just to test the camera.

Editing

Yes, I edited the skin using frequency separaion and dodge&burn techniques.

In my camera bag

Now I always have my old Canon 500d with 50mm f/1.8 lens with me.

Feedback

I'm actually more outdoors photographer so I'm always afraid of taking pictures indoors, I guess this was the first time for me doing this and it turned out not that bad. So the advice I want to give - never be afraid of trying something new!
