In 1866 the NSW postal service in Australia began to use trains to transport mail across the State. In 1891 vans like this one, the HKL360, were built. Mail was sorted on board the vans while the trains travelled through the night. The service was known as the Travelling Post Office or TPO and lasted until 1985.
