I took this photo at the Little Rock, AR zoo. It is a funny story. I was leaning over the enclosure to get a better angle since I am only 5 ft tall and was yelled at by the zoo keeper!???? This has always been of my favorites!Time
I remember I woke up early. I wanted to get there as soon as the zoo opened. It was a closer morning and I knew it would get hot and mugger as the the day went on. All the animals would be alert in the cool air , then seek shade somewhere later in the day. Them I would never find them hiding. As I am so short!????Lighting
I loved all the shadows in this photograph. The way the lion is laying very relaxed but, alert to any threat. The lighting was perfect for this photograph as it was an over cast morning.Equipment
This was shot with my Sony a33 camera. I have always used Sony cameras. No tripod.Inspiration
The majestic lion. King of the plains (not jungle). He was inspiring, the way he was just watching as if waiting for something (probably lunch)!Editing
When I took this I was clueless about shooting in raw. So, this was shot in Jpeg/raw. I edited it on my computer by opening it in photoshop by opening it in raw.In my camera bag
My bag is always full with everything. My favorite equipment I have is to say my lens ball! I never know what I will want to try new , so I keep it with me all the time! My backpack is very heavy but, I love having it all with me.Feedback
My advice to other? Play with what equipment you have. Have fun! I try all forms of photography. But, my specialty I found is not portraits. I love still! Just play around. You will find your back!
