I took this photo at home, just after my lovely daughter bath. She was smiling all the time and following the lens naturally. I learned photography with my grand father, from what I remember, I wasn't that quiet when he was shooting his art on me!Time
That was around 7pm after a long working day, it has been my best moment of the day! A kind of fusion between the people in front of you and yourself. I was able to instinctively know how she will move so she let me take this shot easily.Lighting
I wanted this set of photos look clean and provide the feeling of purity, Lighting was not something I was willing to play here so I decided to not use any lighting addition. This shot has been taken only with the room light parallel to the changing table.Equipment
This was taken with a Panasonic Lumix GH2 and the awesomely wonderful Lumix 20mm f1.7. I was wondering if I should use a tripod or not but as soon as the first shots where made I understood that having the camera in my hands instead of a tripod have created a communication between my daughter and me.Inspiration
The wish to have great and memorable moments with my daughter inspired me to take this photo. And from now I can say it's a success!Editing
I'm doing post-processing inside Lightroom but as an amateur I'm only using White Balance, Curves and Clarity. I try to do post-processing as less as possible, I'm assuming I will get and learn more from knowing my camera than Lightroom. That do not want to say it's the good approach but at least it's the one which is more in-line with my life.In my camera bag
I always have my Panasonic Lumix GH-2 and it's killer lens the LUMIX G 20mm f/1.7. In addition to that I always have in my pocket my Lumu light meter, this small and cheap things is awesome, seriously, it's as powerful as a high end light meter and plugged on an iphone it's just as easy to use and understand on an everyday basis. Depending on where and when I was shooting I also like to use a Kenko SLIM ND8 filter, a simple Hama Star 63 tripod and a Yongnuo MP-85 LED ring flash.Feedback
Learn to use natural light and you will mostly never need to use a flash, the only exception would be a ring flash for specific portrait. By learning to use natural light you will automatically learn to see things that have to be shot!
